How Landscape Sensitivity is measured?

The Researcher Client's Problem

After her failed attempt of working with a GIS analyst, she got no time to spare in finishing her study specifically in urban changes in landscape, for her architecture studies. There are only a few months before the semester ends, so she reached out to me to solve this issue in her studies.

The Problem

This specifies landscape architecture using the landscape units that she was working with. There are few data acquisitions that are not free in the municipality and also the direction of what methods should be used in her study.

So we've made a deal: I'll be her personal GIS analyst, and I will lead the methods suited to her study. Luckily she agreed. This includes personal coaching calls per week, a thorough review and distilled of different methods for her to simply select, and a teaching mode to teach her since she ask a lot of questions.

The Results

The figure shows the land management zone overlay with the official municipal zone.

She successfully defended her master's study. We generated at least 5 revisions on it. The image below shows some of the outputs generated. Some methods used are interpolation using inverse distance weighted, zonal statistics, and the raster calculator for the average of the different parameters.

One of the parameters used is the average of all geophysical factors.

"I finally defended my master's study despite knowing less technical GIS knowledge. Thank you so much, Joshua!"
