Geospatial Systems Engineer & Data Automation Specialist

I build geospatial systems, dashboards, and automation pipelines that help organizations turn complex location and spatial data into actionable insights. My work spans spatial and web analytics, mobile GIS, scalable mapping platforms, and cost-efficient automation solutions.
Handling millions of building records can slow down systems and make maps hard to use. The original workflow relied on manual digitization in desktop GIS accurate, but slow and not scalable.
Instead of manually digitizing buildings, I sourced data directly from OpenStreetMap using the Overpass API saving time and leveraging a maintained global dataset.
I applied bounding boxes to load only buildings within the user's area of interest, reducing payload size and improving load speed.
I used MapLibre for its lightweight architecture, smooth rendering, and open-source flexibility which is ideal for large spatial datasets.
The map supports 2D and 3D views, geolocation, and search, allowing users to explore building data intuitively.
By combining automated data, filtering, and modern rendering, the final system loads faster, scales better, and replaces manual GIS workflows.
This approach delivers a faster, cleaner, and more scalable solution compared to traditional desktop GIS digitization saving time and cost while improving usability.

Hi, I'm Joshua De Leon from the Philippines. I specialize in enterprise-level geospatial systems, data engineering, and GIS automation across desktop, web, and cloud environments. My work focuses on helping organizations transform complex spatial and urban data into actionable insights, supporting industries such as location intelligence, real estate, urban planning, infrastructure analysis, and environmental and hydrological studies.
To achieve this, I design and build scalable WebGIS platforms, intuitive dashboards, and automated data pipelines that simplify how spatial information is collected, processed, and visualized.
